Ode To The "X"

It doesn’t look like much, the letter “X
But it speaks volumes in the right conteXt
Like the Southern home for a country boy’s eX’s
Just south of the Red River, they call it TeXas.

Need a car and have a pile of cash?
A LeXus will finish off your savings stash.
Having a little trouble signing the dotted line?
An “X” on the spot will work just fine.

You can have an eX-wife or even be eXpelled
An eX-con can find his sentence upheld.
You can try to eXplain why you don’t eXercise
But too many eXcuses could bring your demise.

So number twenty-four in the alphabet
Is a character for sure, one we’ll never forget
To eXpatiate on such a simple theme
Could only happen on the page of a meme.

Thank you, Patty. My post this week is a little like George Burns' brown suit in a room filled with tuxedos. But I had fun writing it :)
